BRIEF
The brief was to create a self portrait for the cover of creative review magazine that refelcts our personality as a designer.
RESPONSE
As I like using bold, geometric shapes within my work, I chose to incorporate triangles into my portrait by camouflaging myself into the backdrop. The backdrop was created in illustrator and printed out at A0. Three of my peers assisted the shoot and helped to paint the top half of my body to blend me into the backdrop.
Creative Direction
The main issues with this shoot consisted of time- This took 3 hours to complete! There was also the issue of getting the triangles lined up and painted onto my skin to a good enough quality to photograph.

Myself
Wardrobe and Styling
There wasn't any specific wardrobe and styling choices needed- I just tied my hair back so the main emphasis was the pattern, and as you cant see any of my clothing in this shot, there was no need to choose something in particular.
Pose and Staging
I chose to be central in the frame looking straight at the camera with the backdrop placed right behind me to fill the frame.

Technical Considerations:
Lights
One light surce using a soft box on my left with a panel and reflector to my left to help stop any shadows forming.
Camera
Nikon D300
Action
Getting the studio set up and painting the triangles onto my skin took up a good 2 and a half hours of the time, then the sheet itself took roughly 45 minutes in total including light tests and checking the shots. Several images were taken so that I had a variation to choose from with the lighting differing.
